SUBSIDY RE-INVESTMENT PROGRAM (SURE-P) / GRADUATE INTERNSIP SCHEME (GIS)

​Subsidy Re-investment Program (SURE-P) is the Federal Government program designed to help the unemployed youths and graduates secure Job with private firm in need of their services while the Government takes care of the pay. The GIS is the program under SURE-P specially designed for graduates.

What is ​Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS)?

The Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) was launched in October, 2012 to create opportunity for graduates to be attached to firms /organizations who have shown interest in their services, where they can work for a year and enjoy a monthly stipend of N30,000 with a Group Life and Accident Insurance. Such interns can use the opportunity to gain working experience and enhance their employability skills.

This is how it works, Organizations who are in need of workers and graduates who are in need of job get to meet by registering on the sure-p website. The two are then match-make by the cordinators of the program. Any graduate who is successful gets paid N30,000 every month by Federal Government (not the employer) for a period of one year while working with the organization.

Organizations who are seeking for employable graduates can partake in this program too. Their role is to provide a platform for the employed graduate to practice his/her discipline while the Federal Government pay monthly allowance to the graduate for a duration of one year.
